Principal’s Message

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year at Takhini Elementary School! I am truly honoured to serve as the new principal, and I look forward to working with students, families, staff, the First Nation School Board and the broader community to ensure a successful and enriching year ahead.

At the heart of my leadership philosophy is a deep belief in the inseparable power of community and family involvement. Together, we shape the experiences and outcomes of our children, our community, and our school. I am committed to creating an inclusive, culturally responsive environment where every student feels valued, supported, and inspired to learn.

As a father of three boys—aged 5, 9, and 14—I understand firsthand the importance of a strong support network in a child's education. I am always open to discussing your child's progress, any questions or concerns you may have, or ways we can work together to support their learning journey. Open and honest communication is essential to students’ success. I can commit to reaching out without hesitation to families, and I hope you’ll do the same. 

Like outgoing principal Mr. Morgan and vice-principal Mr. Korten, my approach is also rooted in developmental appropriateness and personalized support, working closely with learners, families, teachers, and staff to foster growth and confidence.

This year promises many exciting opportunities, and I encourage each of you to stay engaged and involved with the Takhini school community. We look forward to welcoming families to key events such as BBQs and Family Nights and celebrating the many successes that come with a collaborative effort.
